Over the past several years, The Garland Building has benefited from capital improvements including:
- A comprehensive restoration of the exterior
- A renovation of the lobby and conference facilities
- The addition of fiber optics, cable and wiring for high-speed Internet connectivity
- Enhancements such as 24-hour access and security.
Capital improvements undertaken during the conversion process include:
- Modernizing the building’s 11 elevators, including new cabs and a microprocessor controlled operating system to reduce wait times and improve the ride
- Accelerating a program to enhance life safety systems
- Installing a rooftop cooling tower and condenser water risers to improve ventilation systems, providing more efficient cooling and substantial environmental savings
- Adding men’s and women’s handicapped-accessible restrooms in critical areas
- Upgrading corridors with new paint, carpet and lighting
